Glims Farmstead Museum is an old farm in its original spot in Espoo, right next to the Jorvi hospital. Travel back in time and explore the cozy farmhouse where Johan and Aurora Lönnberg once lived, alongside travelers resting by the large bread oven. The 11 buildings on the farm, some dating back to the 1700s, along with many old objects, paint a vivid picture of Finnish rural life in the late 1800s.
Children will love climbing to the hayloft or discovering magical protection symbols in the storehouse. Glims Farmstead Museum offers guided tours and seasonal workshops for an immersive experience, making it both fun and educational. In summer, children can play with the animals and might even spot a flock of chickens wandering the yard. In winter, a Christmas elf makes an appearance, bringing festive cheer to the farm.
Glims Farmstead Museum has free entry on Wednesday and accepts cash, debit, and credit cards (Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, MasterCard Maestro). The museum also has a cozy cafe offering sweet and savory delicacies with a summer terrace for the warmer months.
